Questions About Our Program
Does my artist need to bring anything to class?
No, your artist will be supplied with everything they need, including all materials.
They may bring water and an apron, if they would like to do so.
What will my artist learn in class?
We work with a variety of mediums including painting, drawing, clay, paper mache, pastels, charcoal, and more! We like to expose our young artists to as many materials as possible to broaden their horizons and expand their material knowledge to teach techniques. All school year classes include art history, famous artist talks, and the principles and elements of design.
Will my student(s) get to keep their artwork?
Of course! All artwork created by your students is always yours to keep and cherish forever (and trust us, you'll want to!) But we love to honor and celebrate your artists so all artwork created during our school year program is always displayed in the front window. Artists will take home their work anytime a new display is going up but if you need it sooner, just ask. Also, please let us know if your student is leaving our program, so we can take down their art for their last day.
Can my artist come for just one session during the school year?
Your artist can attend one session of classes, although we do not advise this. Due to the fact that our art program is ongoing, our program works best for students looking to continue on with us and build on prior skills learned. It is best for your artist to have consistent and ongoing attendance to get the most of our program.

Questions About our Policies
My artist missed a class, can I get a refund, credit, or switch?
Sorry, we do not offer any refunds, credits or switches for any missed classes.
But why not?
We are not able to offer any switches, credits or refunds for a few reasons. First, we have found that the entire class misses out while we "catch-up" the make-up student. Second, many of our classes are full and not able to accomodate students who wish to do a make-up. Third, we are unable to keep track of any credits or switches made, as we have over 100 students during our school year program and over 500 students during the summer. Lastly, once you have paid for a spot for your artist, we hold that spot for you and often turn away other customers who wanted your spot.
Can my artist attend every other class or just periodically?
At the Studio Claremont, regular weekly attendance is critical for our artist's success. Due to the fact that all of our projects are ongoing, any class an artist misses will effect their overall project. We completely understand that things come up and unforunately illnesses occur so when your artist has to miss an occansional class, we will always get them caught up so they are on track with all other students when they return. We never want a student to feel lost or behind!
Do you offer trial classes?
No, during our school year program, we do not offer any trial classes as all of our classes are ongoing and all projects require your student to be in class more than once. During the summer, we do not offer any free trial classes. However, we have many one-time classes that many students will attend to see if our classes are a fit for them. Keep an eye out for one-time workshops that we occasionally hold during the school year and summer. You are always welcome to make an appointment for your student to come and observe a class.
Do I have to pay the new student enrollment fee?
All new students who have never attended a class at Studio Claremont must pay the new student enrollment fee of $20. Students who have been to the studio on a school field trip but not a scheduled studio class must still pay the new student fee. You can pay the new student fee here.
