Students will create 4 watercolor and oil pastel masterpieces inspired by:


  • Beautiful Oops
  • Dragons Love Tacos
  • If You Give a Mouse a Cookie
  • The Adventures of Beekle the Unimaginary Friend


Class 1

Part 1: Students will watch a video of the Beautiful Oops being read.

Part 2: Students will be taught how to create their own unique "oops" masterpiece, promoting flexibility and creative choices.


Class 2

Part 1: Students will watch a video of Dragons Love Tacos being read.

Part 2: Students will create their own dragon with a taco and learn to create texture, shading, and how to use the resist technique with oil pastel or crayon.


Class 3

Part 1: Students will watch a video of If You Give a Mouse a Cookie being read.

Part 2: Students will create their own mouse with a cookie inspired by the story. They will practice their drawing techniques and work on the resist technique again.


Class 4

Part 1: Students will watch a video of The Adventures of Beekle the Unimaginary Friend being read.

Part 2: Students will create their own Beekle with a rainbow. This project will teach students about shading and color wheel order.


NO SUPPLIES ARE INCLUDED WITH THIS CLASS. STUDENTS WILL NEED TO PROVIDE THEIR OWN SUPPLIES. INCLUDING...



  • An oil pastel set or crayons
  • A paint brush
  • Watercolor paper
  • A watercolor paint set
  • Watercolor pencils (recommended)
  • Black permanent marker 
  • A pencil 
  • An eraser 
  • A table protector (cardboard, newspaper, etc.) 
  • An old rag or paper towel 
  • A bowl of water
