Welcome to Week 1 of "Watercolor Wonders"! This week, students will learn how to create a flower color wheel using all seven elements of design: line, shape, space, color, value, texture, and form. The materials needed for this lesson are a pencil, washable markers (or a watercolor paint set), a paint brush, water, an old rag or paper towel, and white paper.

In week 2 of Watercolor Wonders, students will be learning about color shading and watercolor blending as they create a springtime bunny with flowers.
This week has two lessons, part 1 - Watercolor Techniques: Shading Practice and part 2 - The Springtime Bunny painting.
Required materials for this week include watercolor paints, watercolor paper, water, a paint brush, an old rag or paper towel, a pencil and eraser, and a permanent black marker.

Part 1 - Watercolor Techniques: Shading Practice
Students will learn different watercolor techniques throughout the session. This week, students will learn how to shade with watercolor paint to create value. Please watch this video before creating your watercolor bunny.
Part 2 - Watercolor Bunny
In week 3 of Watercolor Wonders, students will be learning the watercolor resist technique to create their own secret gift for a parent, grandparent, or someone they care about. This week's lesson comes in two parts:
Part 1 - Watercolor Techniques: Oil Pastel Resist and part 2 - a secret painting for someone special.

In week 4 of Watercolor Wonders, students will be reviewing the watercolor resist technique and learning the new skill of color mixing using the wet on wet watercolor technique.
